History

The Grenada Duathlon was started in 2002 by the Grenada Downtown Association. It was an instant success with participants from our local racing area and interested racers in Northern Mississippi and Southern Tennessee. In 2004, the management of the race changed to a local Physical Therapist in Grenada and a new course was conceived to allow access for a larger transition area, more parking, and a safer environment for children and spectators (complete with a playground). The race start/finish and transition is now held at the Grenada Dam Recreational Area.

The Downtown Jubilee Festival is an annual event held in Grenada's historic downtown area. The date of the race has been set to correspond with the festival in order to allow those racing the opportunity to experience more of Grenada and the fun that the festival brings.
